Replacement trees for Balfour Avenue
We have been advised by the Priority Homes team that new trees are about to be planted on Balfour Avenue to replace the ones that were cut down to widen the road. The start date for the planting is 10 Feb 2014. A copy of the notification is below:
This is just to let you know that works will commence on 10 February to replace the 9 lime trees that were removed along the north side of Balfour Avenue in February 2013; these trees had been removed to enable the road widening works that are now completed. The tree replacement works will take place between 8.00am and 16:00 and there should be minimal disruption to traffic flow along Balfour Avenue. The planting is expected to take no more than three days to complete.
The type of replacement tree and location of the trees has been approved by the Woking Borough Council Tree Officer in consultation with Surrey County Council; the trees chosen are Tilia cordata Greenspire (Lime), a non drip lime tree which will look similar to the other trees in the road.
These works are being carried out now, because it is the planting season which runs between November and March. This information will be posted onto the Priority Homes web pages and the Kingsmoor Park web pages.
Kind regards
