Travelers instructed to leave common

Woking Borough Council officers issued a notice to vacate to a small number of travelers who had setup camp on Westfield Common opposite Rosebank Cottages overnight 13 Jul 17.

According to a representative of the Council the process for removing them is straightforward due to the existence of byelaws covering the whole common. In effect the Council officers are empowered to remove persons causing offenses under the byelaws without the need for further long drawn out legal shenanigans.

The travelers left promptly and in good order on 14 Jul 17.
